Awards Night

On May 30, St. Peter-Kasota Dollars for Scholars awarded 71 scholarships ranging from $500 to $2200 to the St. Peter High School class of 2018 during the annual Senior Awards Program. Scholarships are awarded from two main types of funds.

Our General Funds come from individual contributions to our annual phone-a-thon or other fundraising events.  This fund supported scholarships to 24 students and included our second annual St Peter-Kasota Dollars for Scholars Renewable Scholarship.

In addition, we have several sponsored scholarships where donors have created a scholarship in their name, the name of their business or organization, or in memory of a loved one lost. This year, it has been an honor to work with 41 families to select recipients who meet the criteria they have established based on what they are passionate about.

All total, $48,000 in scholarships were awarded. Congratulations to all our recipients!

Our chapter was also thrilled to announce that we met our goal and have received the $10,000 matching grant from Scholarship America, which will allow us to continue down the path of offering renewable scholarships.

Annual Phonathon

Fall of 2017 marks the 33rd annual St. Peter-Kasota Dollars for Scholars® phonathon!  Students from SPHS National Honor Society volunteer to make the calls asking community members to make a tax-deductible contribution.  Dates for the phonathon this year are November 11 and 12.
